tony baba : Absolutley enchanting. who,d thunk it; the best irish step dancers in the world aren't even Irish.
Cynthia Duguay : The little girl who came second in 10-11 year olds is a class act. So positive, grateful and sweet. She went right to the first place winner to congratulate her. Her dancing was impressive, but so was her personality and spirit.
tt : Its amazing how this was filmed only a few years ago but the costumes and dancing have changed soooooo much. The clicks are higher, the have to be more crossed and turned out, it’s crazy.
Mandy Martin : When I first saw this movie was when I started dreaming about worlds. Now, 7 years later I am dancing at my first worlds (next week!!) on the very same stage that this movie was filmed on. Feels so surreal.
Ariana Helvie : The little boy is just precious. You know, sometimes I don't think the concept of toxic masculinity is real, but when I look at him and realize how much he's been bullied just because he loves to dance, I know it's real out there to some degree. He's an artist. That's nothing to make fun of. Because he isn't into other sports doesn't make him any less of a boy, or one day, a man.

Irish Jig

Emily Fleetham : As someone who has been Irish Dancing since childhood I can honestly say this really cannot be described as an Irish jig
Denine Matsuda : Thank you, ladies!! It’s been a difficult covid year and my students are loving the dances I’ve been teaching them. They cannot get enough! I can’t wait to teach them this tomorrow. I can’t thank you enough
KathyW2200 : This is similar to Irish sean-nós dancing, or "old style" Irish stepdance. Sean-nós is the original form of Irish stepdancing, which much later evolved into the modern style of stepdance we see in Riverdance and other shows. Sean-nós looks very different than modern stepdancing, with low-to-the-ground, improvised footwork and a relaxed body. Sean-nós is still danced all over Ireland and around the world. You can use your arms in sean-nós, so you don't need to hold your arms down like they do here.
Amanda Lipare : This is a great video and a simple enough dance even for Grade 2 Music Students to learn. It is also WELL TAUGHT with GREAT INSTRUCTIONS. However, I would not use the word "Chorus" for the part where they are "criss crossing" their legs. It's more like a "fill" before they switch to a new dance pattern. A "fill" is a VERY SHORT pattern that repeats off and on throughout a song or piece of music. A "Chorus" in music is a WHOLE REPEATED TUNE with REPEATED WORDS that happens at least 2 or more times throughout a SONG and it is much LONGER. This short little "Criss Cross" pattern is way to short (only done once) to be called a "Chorus". When I taught this dance to my Music students, in a unit on Music of the United Kingdom, they got confused and said "A Chorus is much longer!" And to Emily, NO, this is not an Irish Jig, but parts of the steps are "jig-like" and easier for younger students. It's too hard for younger students with "zero" dance experience to try to "turn out" (like in ballet) and step front and back, which is a huge part of the traditional Irish Jig. I use this with Grades 2-3-"early" 4 and call it an "easier dance that's a little bit like a jig" and I use a traditional jig (different you tube video from an Irish Dance Studio-Savannah: Learn How to Jig) for Grades "late" 4-5-6-.
Brian Mehaffey : Very well taught!!!
Very well!!!

Janessa Boomhour : Well done video. It was everything I needed to know to go and buy one. Thanks.
Joyce Victoria Smith : Thank you for this great video, I like how well you explained everything! I have had the same jig for about 2 years, but the instructions are very confusing. Needless to say I have been doing it wrong all along!! Thank you! Kreg should be paying you for his great tutorial!
elvis459 : Have one of these for months but have never used it as just wasn't sure on the set up. Your video has helped a lot and explained things in a very easy to follow manner. Now I know I need a clamp, I'll get myself one and start using it for sure! Thanks!!
Bee Bob : Nice demonstration. Simple and to the point. I had one years ago that froze the drill bit into the slot. Returned it twice before getting my money back. I went back to using a biscuit cutter and biscuits which is a time user. I'll try another this spring.
Thanks.
sarcosis55 : I know this was just a quick demo but it's worth noting that in order to make the strongest joint possible the holes should have gone in the other piece of wood so as not to screw into the end grain of the wood.
