Incredible MCM Ranch in Winnetka by architect Don Erickson! Mid-Century Modern House Tour
Take a look a this amazing MCM / mid-century modern / Mid-Mod-Med architecture by Architect Don Erickson. Erickson was a Master Apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright and a personal friend of Mr. Wright's, often playing piano for Mr. \u0026 Mrs. Wright in their apartment at Taliesin. Erickson's designs are notable his use of natural light and for their grand scale and soaring volumes.
This home is relatively unique in Erickson's vast portfolio of modern homes in that it's one of the few that truly incorporated Mediterranean influences. Originally designed and built for photographer Richard Boyer in 1968, the home features signature Erickson elements including soaring beamed ceilings, brick floors, multiple fireplaces, many large windows, skylights, sunken living (and private) areas and much more.
The primary living spaces are wonderfully grand, and are set under a combination pitched / chalet roof featuring diamond skylights. The home is in mostly original and quite pristine condition. Very few changes have been made over the years, making this a rare, mostly unmodified example of Don Erickson's stunning architectural art. Angelica Tapia : I bought mine from the MCM store recently, and the stitching on the zipper is like the one on the fake. The triangular flaps on the bottom of the straps also do not have the MCM logo. In fact, most on the market do not have the MCM logo on the triangular flap (from what I’ve seen)
Julie A : Hi Yes, in regards to the zipper. I have a genuine “small” MCM directly from Bloomingdales. It’s slightly older but the zipper does not have the stitching straight down. The stitching is all around both sides. Don’t forget they all have “YKK” engraved as well. Depending on the models, they do have very slight variations. Great video

One Two : Also on the fakes of the newer version you can tell easily if it’s fake just by looking at the leather panel cut under the straps, on fakes they’re stitched/placed lower than the real ones, real 2017/2018 mcm straps have 3 patterns cutting off, the fakes also have smaller pockets from the inside, as the real one has very large pockets, and when wearing a real one, there’s a shape every real mcm backpack has when hanging off your back while the fake one just looks like it never looses its shape and really great video for sure it helped a lot of people
